1. Purpose
This policy sets out how South Galway Stormers Basketball Club manages team kit, club shop items, basketballs, training equipment, first aid items and other club property.
2. Club Property
Equipment purchased by the Club, donated to the Club or acquired through grants/sponsorship remains club property unless clearly sold or gifted to a member.
3. Team Kit
Playing jerseys and official team kit may be issued to players for a season, match or event. Players and parents/guardians must take reasonable care of kit and return it when requested.
4. Club Shop and Personal Kit
Families may purchase club clothing or accessories through the club shop when available. Personalised items may not be refundable unless faulty. Club branding should not be altered without permission.
5. Sponsor Logos and Branding
Sponsor logos may appear on kit or equipment subject to Committee approval and league rules. Players and teams should not add sponsor branding or modify official kit without approval.
6. Lost or Damaged Kit
The Club may request payment for lost, unreturned or deliberately damaged kit. Normal wear and tear will be treated reasonably.
7. Equipment Use
Coaches should check equipment for obvious hazards before use.
Players should use basketballs, cones, bibs and other equipment safely and respectfully.
Damaged equipment should be reported and removed from use where unsafe.
First aid kits should be available at training and matches where practicable.
8. Storage
Equipment should be stored securely and access should be limited to authorised coaches, managers or committee members. Shared venue storage should be checked periodically.
9. Grants and Donated Equipment
Equipment purchased with grants or donations should be used for the stated purpose and recorded where required for reporting or audit.
